Mr. Jerome “Jay” K. Butler was born and raised in Oklahoma. Mr. Butler graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. He was an Army Aviator and served his final tour as a staff officer in Iraq in 2010 before retiring from the Army as a Colonel in 2011. Mr. Butler also has a Master of Science Degree (MS) in Management Information Systems from the University of Central Texas, and an MS Degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. Mr. Butler currently supports the Navy’s Bureau of Medicine (BUMED) as a contractor in Project Management and Continuous Process Improvement at BUMED Headquarters in Falls Church, VA.
Mr. Butler and his wife moved to Front Royal in 2005 where they have raised their four children. Mr. Butler is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where he was Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus for two years. He decided to run for the Happy Creek District seat on the Warren County Board of Supervisors in 2021 at the urging of friends, where he could use his experience and skills to help benefit the community. His goals include: helping prevent similar incidents like the recent EDA scandal; supporting our First Responders; ensuring that School Board funds are used for the best outcomes for our students; and seeking to minimize government intrusion in our personal lives.
