Invitation to Bid - New Rivermont Fire Station

Sealed bids for construction of the New Rivermont Fire Station, will be received in person, via regular mail by U.S. Postal Service, or via special courier service at 220 North Commerce Ave., Suite 100, Front Royal, VA 22630, until but no later than 2:00 PM local prevailing time, Thursday, February 14, 2019, Friday, February 22, 2019 and then publicly opened and read immediately thereafter.

Bids received after the announced time and date for submittal, whether by mail or otherwise, will be rejected.  Bidders are responsible for ensuring their Bid is received before the deadline indicated.  Bids submitted by telephone, telegraph, email, text message, or facsimile shall not be accepted.

The Work generally consists of the construction of a new fire station and multi-purpose space.  The primary structure of the new Rivermont Fire Station will be a pre-engineered metal building system.  The exterior walls will be constructed primarily of metal panels with an adhered masonry stone veneer water table over cold form steel studs.  The project will also incorporate façade constructed of fiber-cement board and batten panels.  The apparatus bay will be concrete masonry construction with adhered masonry stone veneer.  There are three building-mounted canopies attached to the apparatus bay sheltering sectional overhead doors.  The roof will consist of insulated metal panels over metal purlins, and fenestration will be constructed of storefront systems.  Interior spaces will be painted gypsum wall board over cold form steel studs.  Wainscoting will provide wall protection where required.  The kitchen will be outfitted at a later date. Domestic water will be supplied by an existing well on site and will require treatment and storage.  A fire suppression system will also be incorporated into the building and requires a large storage tank.  Water equipment will be housed in a site building.  Waste will be discharged into an existing field off site.  A lift station will be required.  Site elements also include propane storage tanks, electrical transformer, and a generator.  HVAC equipment and ductwork, electrical distribution and equipment, and data equipment are all part of the work.  Sitework includes grading, utilities, drainage, and other miscellaneous sitework.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 220 North Commerce Ave., Suite 100, Front Royal, VA 22630.  Submit questions in writing, at this time on the required “Pre-Bid Question Form.”  The “Pre-Bid Question Form” may be accessed within the Project Manual, or you may submit online via www.moseleyarchitects.com.  Responses will be in the form of addenda if required. 

Beginning on January 18, 2019, Bidding Documents may be obtained electronically by visiting www.moseleyarchitects.com.  Bidders who wish to have their names added to the plan-holders list and to be notified of any addenda, should notify Amanda Taylor at aptaylor@moseleyarchitects.com. Only bidders listed on the plan holders list will be notified of addenda.
